Per new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, now completing a 20-year prison term for sex-trafficking crimes, is allegedly readying a clemency request for consideration by the Trump administration.

Preferential Handling Alleged at Federal Prison

Congressional Democrats on the House judiciary committee announced that a source provided information indicating the inmate is preparing the clemency petition. Additionally, they mentioned she has been given preferential conditions at the minimum-security facility in Texas.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House judiciary committee, stated in a official statement that the facility's chief was “helping” Maxwell with copying, printing, and sending documents to support her bid for executive mercy.

The exact content of the “commutation application” remain unclear, Raskin added.

Alleged Privileges and Special Accommodations

The representative claims that, according to the whistleblower, Maxwell has been given specially prepared food that are “personally delivered” to her cell, and the warden has individually organized private meetings for her and her guests.

These meetings allegedly include a “special cordoned-off area” for visitors and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Those visiting Maxwell were also allowed to carry electronic devices, which the congressman characterized as an “unprecedented action” given the security risk and chance of unsupervised contact.

In one alleged instance, when phone lines went down for other inmates, she was given specific instructions about instructing her associates to contact and how personnel would relay the call to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The source also allegedly told House Democrats that when Maxwell wanted to review and edit documents “quickly”, she reportedly employed the official as her private aide.

The news release indicates that those writing to her would email documents directly to the supervisor, who would hand them over to the inmate, for her to examine and change and provide them back to the official to scan and provide to the initial correspondent.

Further perks reportedly provided to her include opportunities to interact with a trainee assistance dog – a benefit not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as private after-hours access to the prison exercise area.

In a statement, the presidential office said that it “does not comment” on possible pardon appeals.

“Per the President's remarks, pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has considered,” the representative noted.

Recently, it was reported that Maxwell told friends and family in emails from prison that she was more content at the new prison than her former location.

In August, she was moved from a low-security prison in Tallahassee, Florida to the minimum-security camp in the state, where most inmates are serving time for financial and non-violent crimes.

The transfer, which authorities called as exceptional, occurred just days after she was questioned about the Epstein case by the deputy attorney general, the official, who also once acted as Donald Trump's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing mounting pressure to disclose additional files related to the Epstein investigation and amid intense speculation around Trump's own connections to the disgraced financier and adjudicated criminal, who was found dead in a New York jail in that year while facing trial on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, Raskin also revealed that he had dispatched a communication to the President, requesting explanations about the insider's claims, and urged the chief executive to reject Maxwell’s commutation request.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any type of pardon to this convicted and unrepentant criminal,” the representative stated in the document. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with puppies to play with, with federal law enforcement officials waiting on her every need, or with any special treatment or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that the official appear for a public congressional hearing to discuss the revelations and also posed three questions to Trump.

He inquired whether Trump had discussed a possible clemency for the convict with the official or others, whether he had instructed him or anyone else to provide Maxwell with the move or special conditions in prison, and whether Maxwell, her lawyers, family or agents have made any commitments to the President or his attorneys.

The representative requested for a reply to the inquiries by the specified date.
